Prophecy and Money

Start to understand what is it with prophecy and money. True men of God are good stewards of His creation. You will know false prophets by how they manage God’s creation.

Hebrew means “house law and rule”. The person hired is responsible for the affairs of the owner. The property, money, and resources should be under his control. God owns everything and we are just stewards of this world. Our daily lives are under stewardship too. God is concerned with what’s in your heart.

‘Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.” (Jeremiah 14:14 KJV)

How can you be a good steward? Why do children of God need to be good stewards? First, you have to conserve. You need not be wasteful. A good steward knows how to manage properly. You have to think of the most prudent way to allocate the resources. If you are wasteful, you are wasting the resources and opportunities God has provided for you. And if you are not responsible, it reflects what’s in your heart.

A good steward knows how to pay back. The Parable of the Talents teaches us to view stewardship as a loan from God. He gives us everything including His son, so a way to give back is to honor Him with what He freely gave you.

The ancient Egyptians once believed that they can take the material possessions with them. But if you go to Museums in Cairo, you will see all the grand stuff from the past displayed in there. You have to see life here on earth as your training ground. You are given your possessions: property, abilities, and relationships. Take good care of these possessions. It is important for you to be good managers of the ultimate owner which is God.

Good stewardship is more than just giving back what is due to God. Good stewardship should possess the heart of it. It’s not just what you give or what you do for God; it’s WHY you do it. In our world today, there are things we grab hold of too strongly. There are things which we find hard to let go. But we must always be reminded that we don’t own even the tiniest thing that we have now. Everything comes from God alone. We have to be faithful stewards. God sees each and everyone’s heart. He desires for a heart who does every single thing out of our love for Him.
