The Gospel Blesses Families

We live in a world of changing values. The times have changed so much and the moral decline has become very distinct. The gospel is one of the things that hasn’t changed. This system of integrity is one of the pieces holding humanity together.

The family is the center of God’s plan. The gospel is the gift for this integral basic unit of society. The plan of God is for us to come to this earth to be tested and come back and be a part of His eternal family. We may regret not having a good career; we may regret our education; but one thing we should never regret is taking care of our family.

“But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary” (1 Corinthians 12: 20-22)

God never intended for us to walk through this mortal life alone. He sent His prophets for us to know of His words and what we should do in order to gain exaltation. He sent us our family to help us when we fall.

We humans are fragile, incomplete, and meant to be a team player. We often forget things, but that’s why we have each other to remind us when we forget, to pick us up when we fall, to teach us and be edified, and most of all to love one another, so that we may have an inkling of how it feels to be part of a whole.

The gospel was made for the family and if we learn it and use it in our daily lives and the way we interact with each family member, we will see the greatness of the plan of the Lord unfolding before our eyes. We will see how the gospel will bless our family.
