Making the Best Out of the Situation
When the widows Ruth and Naomi went to live in Bethlehem, Ruth decided to make the best of the situation by doing what she could to work. In Ruth 2:2, it is stated;
“And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after one in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
In the passage, Ruth asked her mother-in-law for permission to gather leftover grain after the harvest that they may have something to eat. It is clear that for two widows at that time, being able to sustain themselves can be quite a challenge. Ruth, however, decided to do the best she could, despite such limited options.
