Salvation is a Gift from God
Salvation, according Paul, is not a reward for the good things that a man does. Rather, it is a gift from God because of His grace. So what are the requirements in order for man to qualify for the salvation that was promised through Jesus Christ? The condition is very simple. All you have to do is to go to Jesus, acknowledge his lordship, repent and turn away from the sinful life that you have. Do you need to redo what Jesus did on the cross? No need. It is already finished. Jesus already bore the sins of the world on the cross. He has already risen. He conquered the grace and defeated death.
So there’s nothing more a man can do but to acknowledge the work of Christ and become his follower. Just do it and you will have the salvation that God promises. This is the reality of eternal life –salvation starts at the acknowledgement of the Lordship of Christ. You gain salvation when you acknowledge Christ and put your faith in him. The bible said: “You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.”
God was so gracious that aside from forgiveness, He also gave salvation. He did not just forgive, God also redeemed. God’s intention was really to deliver people from sin. He made sure that everyone who repents is not just forgiven, but also given the chance to redo and relive life with Him. The bible said: “When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.”
