Doing Whatever the Word of God Says
Now, observing the Sabbath and listening to the word of God is not the end of it. After hearing the word of God, the next big step to do is to actually do it. Yes, do whatever the word of God says. Gathering and having fellowship with other Christians every week are not enough to say that you are observing the Sabbath. You will actually know if a person sincerely observes the Sabbath if he is living by the word of God every single day.
During Sabbath, you are being refreshed with the word of God. You learn new things and get new revelations from God. While listening to these words is important, doing them is more relevant. You will never get to experience the power in it unless you live your life with it.
It is like looking into a delicious recipe without doing anything about it. No matter how many times you read the recipe, you will never get to know if the recipe is actually delicious if you will not cook it. Hearing the word of God is the same. Its power will not work if you will not live your life according to what it says. The Apostle James said: “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.”
